Photojournalism
Minor ReflectionsPhotographing football, basketball, and other high school sports taught me that a camera can do something words sometimes cannot. Sports are one of the few spaces where human emotion is completely unfiltered. Getting to freeze those moments felt significant. A well-written story might take a thousand words to bring a reader into that feeling, but a single photograph can do it instantly. That is what drew me to sports photojournalism — the idea that one image, captured at the right moment, carries the full weight of a story without needing any explanation. It made me understand photojournalism as a form of storytelling that hits differently, because the emotion you are seeing is entirely real and entirely unposed.
